Wolves Stop Golden Eagle Men 76-65

heier_matt_09.jpg hendricks_adam_09.jpg(Crookston, Minn.)- Northern State University raced out to a 47-30 halftime lead and withstood a strong second half from a short-handed University of Minnesota, Crookston Men's Basketball team as the Wolves defeated the Golden Eagles 76-65 tonight in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) in Aberdeen, S.D.

Northern State University was led by Mitch Boeck who scored 18 points (6-for-17). Collin Pryor added 14 points (4-for-7) and pulled down seven rebounds.

The Golden Eagles were led by Matthew Heier (Sr, G, Ray, N.D.) who scored a game high 21 points (6-for-15) including five three-pointers. Adam Hendricks (Jr, F, Watertown, Minn.) added 15 points (7-for-8).

Northern State University improves to 9-11 overall and 5-8 in the NSIC. U of M, Crookston falls to 3-16 overall and 0-13 in the NSIC.

The Golden Eagles return to NSIC road action on Friday, February 5 and Saturday, February 6 when they face Minnesota State University, Mankato and Southwest Minnesota State University respectively. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. each night.
