Golden Eagle Volleyball Closes Out University of Missouri-St. Louis Invite

(St. Louis, Mo.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston volleyball team closed out the University of Missouri-St. Louis Invite being defeated in the final three matches by Southern Indiana (2-3), Missouri-St. Louis (0-3) and the University of Arkansas- Fort Smith (0-3).

UMC vs. Southern Indiana: Amanda Swann (OH, 6-0, So, Rochester, Mich.) led the Golden Eagles offensively with a career-high 19 kills. Kelsey Matykowski (S, 5-7, So, Sun Prairie, Wis.) led the UMC setters with 29 assists while Chelsea Wiesner (DS, 5-8, Fr, Rochester, Minn.) led all players with 29 defensive digs.

UMC vs. Missouri-St. Louis: Alexandra Skeeter (OH, 5-10, Fr, Milwaukee, Wis.), Amanda Swann (OH, 6-0, So, Rochester, Mich.) and Alyssa Krikke (MH, 6-0, Sr, Grand Rapids, Mich.) led UMC with four kills apiece. Shannon Cologna (S, 5-8, Sr, Peoria, Ariz.) led the setters with 10 assists.

UMC vs. University of Arkansas-Fort Smith: UMC was again led by Danielle Rueter who tallied 10 kills. Cologna added nine assists and Wiesner again led the Golden Eagles with 12 defensive digs.

The Golden Eagles are 0-8 overall on the season. UMC opens NSIC play on Tuesday, September 14 when the team travels to MSU Moorhead to take on the Dragons. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
