St. Cloud State University Drops Golden Eagles 3-1 in Women's Soccer

ostergren_kaitlyn_10.gifgoodrich_jessica_10.gif(Crookston, Minn.)- St. Cloud State University opened up a 3-0 lead at the half and held on to defeat the University of Minnesota, Crookston 3-1 Friday night in St. Cloud, Minn. The match was a non-conference encounter at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate (NSIC) Soccer Festival.

Alexandra Pafko led the Huskies with two goals. Her first came at 7:25 off an assist from Gabrielle Najera. Her second came at 17:43 off an assist from Chelsey Permenter. St. Cloud State University's other goal came at 8:58 when Kara Dahmen scored an unassisted goal.

The Golden Eagles got on the board at 64:47 when Kaitlyn Ostergren (So, M, Lino Lakes, Minn.) scored off an assist from Jessica Goodrich (Fr, F, Munster, Ind.).

Anna Ogaard (Sr, GK, Osseo, Minn.) recorded 13 saves for the Golden Eagles. Kenzie Hanzlik and Molly Bender each had a save for the Huskies.

St. Cloud State University improves to 1-2-0 while the Golden Eagles fall to 0-3-1.

U of M, Crookston returns to action at the NSIC Soccer Festival on Sunday, September 12 when they play a non-conference match with Augustana College. The match begins at 11 a.m.
