Huskies Explode for Five Goals in Second Half to Defeat Golden Eagle Women's Soccer Squad 5-0

(Crookston, Minn.)- St. Cloud State University (SCSU) broke open a 0-0 game with five second half goals on their way to a 5-0 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Soccer victory over the University of Minnesota, Crookston today in Crookston, Minn.

After a scoreless first half, Tara Jackson scored an unassisted goal at 59:51 to put the Huskies up 1-0. Alexandra Pafko found the back of the net at 70:43 off an assist from Gabrielle Najera to make the score 2-0. Kelsey Helgeson got in the act at 74:20 off an assist from Chelsey Permenter to increase the lead to 3-0. Sarah Clapp found the back of the net at 79:31 off an assist from Pafko to make the score 4-0. SCSU closed out the scoring at 83:24 when Jessica Pafko scored off a penalty kick.

St. Cloud State University improves to 4-3-0 overall and 2-1-0 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles fall to 0-6-2 overall and 0-3-0 in the NSIC.

U of M, Crookston returns to NSIC action tomorrow against Concordia University, St. Paul. Game time is 1 p.m.
