(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Mary scored two goals in each half and went on to defeat the University of Minnesota, Crookston 4-1 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Women's Soccer action Saturday in Bismarck, N.D.
The Marauders got on the board at 9:33 when Megan Helrung scored off an assist from Jessica Curl. Curl made the score 2-0 at 37:03 off an assist from Sami Axtman.
The Golden Eagles got on the board when Brittany Taylor (Fr, F, Noblesville, Ind.) scored an unassisted goal at 44:20 to cut the score to 2-1.
The University of Mary increased their lead to 3-1 at 54:56 when Alex Bachman-Williams scored off an assist from Amy Tanaka. The Maruaders closed out the scoring at 83:36 when Danya Domingo scored off an assist from Bachman-Williams to make the final score 4-1.
Kassie Young recorded two saves for the University of Mary. Anna Ogaard (Sr, GK, Maple Grove, Minn.) recorded eight saves for the Golden Eagles.
The University of Mary improves to 3-4-3 overall and 2-1-2 in the NSIC. The University of Minnesota, Crookston falls to 0-8-2 overall and 0-5-0 in the NSIC.
The Golden Eagles return to NSIC action on Sunday, October 3 when they face Northern State University in Aberdeen, S.D. at 1 p.m.
