Wayne State College Downs Golden Eagle Volleyball Squad 3-0

(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Volleyball team fought hard against a Wayne State College squad that had lost only two matches all season. However, the Wildcats proved to be stronger tonight as they defeated the Golden Eagles 3-0 (17-25, 21-25, 18-25) in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) action at Lysaker Gymnasium.

Jennifer Hefner led the Wildcats with 14 kills. Tali Fredrickson added 12 kills and 11 digs. Diedra Artz had 40 set assists while Leigh Connot added 11 digs.

The Golden Eagles were led by Alexandra Skeeter (Fr, OH/S, Milwaukee, Wis.) who had 10 kills and six digs. Danielle Rueter (So, OH, Burlington, Wis.) had eight kills and 11 digs. Katie Miedtke (Fr, MH, Maple Grove, Minn.) added seven kills while Chelsea Wiesner (Fr, DS/L, Rochester, Minn.) added 13 digs. Shannon Cologna (Sr, S, Peoria, Ariz.) added 27 set assists.

Wayne State College improves to 17-2 overall and 8-2 in the NSIC. The University of Minnesota, Crookston falls to 0-19 overall and 0-11 in the NSIC.

U of M, Crookston returns to NSIC action on Saturday, October 16 at 4 p.m. when they host Augustana College at Lysaker Gymnasium.
