(Bemidji, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Volleyball team traveled to Bemidji State University this evening to take on the Beavers. The Golden Eagles lost the match 3-0 after a great effort in the third game (25-17, 25-15, 25-22).
Alyssa Krikke (MH, 6-0, Sr, Grand Rapids, Mich.) led the Golden Eagle offense with five kills. Amanda Swann (OH, 6-0, So, Rochester, Mich.) and Alexandra Skeeter (OH, 5-10, Fr., Milwaukee, Wis.) each had four kills. Shannon Cologna (S, 5-8, Sr, Peoria, Ariz.) had 10 assists on the 22 UMC kills to lead the team and Kelsey Matykowski (S, 5-7, So., Sun Prairie, Wis.) followed with seven assists. Chelsea Wiesner (DS, 5-8, Fr., Rochester, Minn.) had 11 digs to lead the UMC defenders.
Nicole Olson led the way for Bemidji State with 13 kills and a .417 (13K-3E-24TA) attack percentage. Jessi-Beth McCannell had a match-high 20 assists and Brie Groskreutz led all defenders with 21 defensive digs.
The Golden Eagles are 0-26 overall and 0-18 in NSIC play. Bemidji State improves to 12-14 overall and 6-12 in the NSIC. Minnesota, Crookston will host Upper Iowa on Friday Nov. 12 for parent's night. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
