(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Basketball team travels to Mayville, N.D. on Friday, November 19 to play the Mayville State Comets in non-conference action. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
UMC's Bri Zabel (F, 6-0, Sr., Northfield, Minn.) led all players in the team's first non-conference game against Finlandia University with 22 points. She shot 80% (8-10) from the field and was perfect from long range (2-2) and at the free-throw line (4-4). Laurie Tyson (C, 6-1, So., Rosemount, Minn.) tied a career-high with 10 points, set a career-high with four blocked shots and led all players with 11 rebounds (6 offensive, 5 defensive). Brittani Wiese (G, 5-7, So., Albertville, Minn.) dished a game-high five assists and added 16 points.
Mayville State is 0-4 on the season. The team is led by Eli Cosme-Gonzalez who is averaging 24.8 points per game. Hailey Longtin follows Cosme-Gonzalez with 14 points per game and leads the team with 11 assists. The Comet offense is averaging 78 points per game while the defense is giving up 95.5 points per game.
