Morgan VanGerpen (Overland Park, Kan.) Signs National Letter of Intent with Golden Eagle Volleyball

(Crookston, Minn.)- University of Minnesota, Crookston head women's volleyball coach Lee Anderson announced today the signing of Morgan VanGerpen to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles in 2011.
 
VanGerpen is a 6-0, middle hitter from Blue Valley High School in the East Kansas League (EKL). Following the 2009 season she was named EKL All-Conference Honorable Mention and was recognized as the top blocker in the conference. After her senior campaign, she was named an EKL All-Conference First Team member and played in the Mo-Kan All-star game.
 
"Morgan is an outstanding player with a great work ethic and positive attitude.  She has a wealth of high level experience at all three front row positions and her versatility is going to be a great asset to our volleyball team next year," says Coach Anderson.  "We are very excited Morgan decided to further her career at UMC and to become a member of the Golden Eagle Volleyball family."
 
VanGerpen plans to major in early childhood education at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. She is the daughter of Mark and Teresa VanGerpen.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston is an NCAA Division II Institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). The Golden Eagle Equestrian team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA).
 
All signees are contingent upon admission to the University of Minnesota, Crookston and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
