(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Men's Basketball raced out to a 36-26 halftime lead and never looked back as they opened the 2010-2011 regular season on a high note defeating Finlandia University 84-58 Monday night in Hancock, Mich.
The Golden Eagles had five players reach double figures. Larry Brown (Jr, F, St. Paul, Minn.) scored 18 points and added seven rebounds. Adam Hendricks (Sr, F, Watertown, Minn.) scored 17 points. Eric Dearden (Sr, G, Riverton, Utah), Almir Krdzalic (So, G, Sioux Falls, S.D.) and Jacolby Anderson (Jr, G, Lancaster, Tex.) each added ten points.
Jonathan Moores led Finlandia University with 17 points. Jerrod Owens added 14 points,
The University of Minnesota, Crookston starts the 2010-2011 season at 1-0. Finalndia University starts at 0-1.
The Golden Eagles return to action on Tuesday, November 23 when they travel to Mayville State University for a non-conference game. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The University of Minnesota, Crookston is an NCAA Division II Institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). The Golden Eagle Equestrian team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA).
