Beavers Down Golden Eagles 5-0 in Women's Soccer

(Crookston, Minn.)- Bemidji State University opened up a 2-0 lead at the half and added three more goals in the second stanza on their way to a 5-0 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) women's soccer victory over the University of Minnesota, Crookston today in Bemidji, Minn.

Jenny Stromberg struck first for the Beavers just 1:09 into the game off assists from Ashlee Ellefsen and Jamie Ford. Ford made the score 2-0 off a penalty kick at 16:55. Ellefsen got into the goal column at 50:23 off assists from Stromberg and Alysha Domiano. Stromberg then made the score 4-0 with her second goal off a header at 54:30. Analey Skog closed out the scoring at 79:48 with an unassisted goal.

Samantha Ross recorded six saves to earn the shutout. Anna Ogaard (Sr, GK, Maple Grove, Minn.) recorded eight saves for the Golden Eagles.

Bemidji State University improves to 5-0-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the NSIC. The University of Minnesota, Crookston falls to 0-5-2 overall and 0-2-0 in the NSIC.

The Golden Eagles return to NSIC action on Saturday, September 25 when they play host to St. Cloud State University on U of M, Crookston's Homecoming. The match begins at 11 a.m.
