(Marquette, Mich.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston volleyball team closed out Saturday's action with a game against the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. UW-Parkside opened the contest with a .300 attack percentage and went on to the 3-0 (16-25, 21-25, 19-25) non-conference victory.
Danielle Rueter (OH, 5-9, So, Burlington, Wis.) led the Golden Eagle offense with nine kills and a .290 (9K-0E-31TA) attack percentage. Kelsey Matykowski (S, 5-7, So, Sun Prairie, Wis.) led all players with 21 set assists. Chelsea Wiesner (DS, 5-8, Fr, Rochester, Minn.) led the Golden Eagle defense for the second day in a row with 12 defensive digs.
UW-Parkside was led offensively by Addie Kramer's 11 kills. Cassie Wilkens led all players in the game with 20 defensive digs.
The Golden Eagles are 0-2 overall this season. UMC returns to the court on Saturday, September 4 to play Lake Superior State. First serve is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. The team closes out the Northern Michigan Invite at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday when the Golden Eagles play host Northern Michigan.
