
The Golden Eagle offense was led by Josh Perea (QB, 6-0, 175, Fr, Pico Rivera, Calif.) who completed 24 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns. Perea's touchdown target was tight end Chris Clay (TE, 6-6, 220, Sr, Ypsilanti, Mich.) who caught four passes for 34 yards with two touchdowns. Eric Ogorek (WR, 6-0, 175, So, Hallock, Minn.) and Antonio Williams (WR, 6-2, 220, Sr, West Palm Beach, Fla.) caught seven passes each. Keith McBride (RB, 5-11, 195, So, Lodi, Wis.) rushed 21 times for 98 yards good for a 4.7 yards/rush average. Brett Rice (RB, 5-10, So, Poynette, Wis.) rushed nine times for 56 yards and added the final score on a three yard rush. The Minnesota, Crookston offense scored on drives of 80, 66, and 54 yards respectively and was 3-3 on red-zone scoring chances. The UMC defense was led by Justin Overby (LB, 6-3, 240, Jr, Langdon, N.D.) and Freedom McCullough (DB, 6-2, 190, Fr, Valley Village, Calif.) who tallied eight tackles each. Overby added 1.5 tackles for a loss of three yards.
Upper Iowa was led by Kirby Hovden who completed 15 passes for 317 yards and five touchdowns. Jessie Hubbard caught three passes on the day and turned two of them into scores. Sam Epsteen rushed 17 times for 103 yards to average 6.1 yards/rush. Aaron Miller led the Peacock defense and all tacklers with 12 total tackles on the day.
The Golden Eagles are 1-5 overall and 0-5 in NSIC play. Upper Iowa advances to 1-5 overall and 1-4 in conference play. Minnesota, Crookston returns home to Ed Widseth Field on Saturday, October 16 to host the Northern State University Wolves. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
