Upper Iowa Upends Goldens Eagles 3-0

(Fayette, Iowa)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Volleyball team traveled to Fayette, Iowa on Friday night to play the Peacocks in NSIC action. UIU held the Golden Eagles to just five tie score and two lead changes in the 3-0 Upper Iowa victory.

Minnesota, Crookston was led by Amanda Swann (OH, 6-0, So, Rochester, Mich.) who tallied nine kills and a team-high .389 (9K-2E-18TA) attack percentage. Shannon Cologna (S, 5-8, Sr, Peoria, Ariz.) earned a match-high 32 assists on the Golden Eagle's 34 kills. Defensively, Danielle Rueter (OH, 5-9, So., Burlington, Wis.) tied a match-high with 10 digs while Alexandra Skeeter (OH, 5-10, Fr., Milwaukee, Wis.) tied a match-high with three block assists.

Upper Iowa was led by Sara Vance's 10 kills. Skylar Lesan earned 23 assists on the 37 Peacock kills. Danielle Gernes tied Rueter with 10 defensive digs and Kayla Wagner tied Skeeter with three block assists.

The Golden Eagles are 0-22 overall and 0-14 in NSIC play. Upper Iowa advances to 7-17 overall and 4-11 in the NSIC. Minnesota, Crookston returns to the court on Saturday, October 30 to take on the Warriors of Winona State. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
