Golden Bears Hang On for 70-66 Victory Over Golden Eagle Men

The game saw 14 lead changes and eight ties. The Golden Bears led by as many as 11 points.

For the second straight night, the Golden Eagles outshot their opponent (45.3% to 41.8%) and held them to under 50% from the field. However, CU would not go away as they took advantage of shooting 20-31 at the free-throw line to take the victory.

The Golden Bears were led by Peter Olafeso who scored 21 points (7-10 from the field) with ten rebounds and four steals. Brent Barz added 18 points (5-12 from the field and 8-12 from the free-throw line) with nine rebounds. Kenny Olafeso added 13 points (5-8 from the field).

U of M, Crookston was led by Larry Brown (Jr, F, St. Paul, Minn.) for the second straight night. He scored 19 points (6-16 from the field) with seven rebounds and five assists. Adam Hendricks (Sr, F, Watertown, Minn.) added 12 points (6-12 from the field) with five rebounds and three assists. Jacolby Anderson (Jr, G, Lancaster, Tex.) chipped in ten points (4-8 from the field) with four rebounds.

CU improves to 11-6 overall and 8-5 in the NSIC. The Golden Eagles fall to 6-11 overall and 2-11 in the NSIC.

U of M, Crookston returns to NSIC action on Saturday, January 29 when they travel to Minnesota State University Moorhead. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston is an NCAA Division II Institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). The Golden Eagle Equestrian team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA).
