(Fayette, Iowa)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Basketball team traveled to Fayette, Iowa tonight to take on the Upper Iowa Peacocks in NSIC action. The Golden Eagles led by 10, 36-26 at halftime and extended the lead to 20 with 3:20 remaining before taking the 74-59 victory.
 
 Bri Zabel (F, 6-0, Sr, Northfield, Minn.) led the Golden Eagles tonight with a game-high 21 points. She was 5-10 from the field and 10-14 from the free throw line. Jamie Zelinsky (G, 5-11, Sr, Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and Brittani Wiese (G, 5-7, So., Albertville, Minn.) followed Zabel with 17 points each. Zelinsky also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.

Jeri Jacobson led Upper Iowa with 13 points on 4-10 shooting. She was followed by Chelsea Arndt and Lana Otting who scored 10 points each.
 
The University of Minnesota, Crookston advances to 7-8 overall and 4-7 in the NSIC. Upper Iowa falls to 1-14 overall and 1-10 in conference play. The Golden Eagles return to the court on January 21 and 22 to take on St. Cloud State and Concordia-St. Paul at home. Game times are scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday and 4 p.m. on Saturday.
