(Crookston, Minn.)- The University of Minnesota, Crookston Women's Basketball team travels to MSU Moorhead this Saturday, January 29 for what could be called a short weekend for the NSIC travel partners. The Dragons defeated the Golden Eagles 64-62 on December 11 at Lysaker Gymnasium. Tip-off for this Saturday's game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
MINNESOTA, CROOKSTON - (8-9, 5-8 NSIC) The Golden Eagle Women's Basketball team went 1-1 on the weekend with a victory over St. Cloud and a loss to Concordia- St. Paul. Megan Eul (F, 5-10, JR, Rosemount, MN) led UMC in the double-header with 15.5 point/game. She scored 17 points on Friday night and contributed 14 points on Saturday. She was 7-11 from the field and 16-20 from the free-throw line. Jamie Zelinsky (G, 5-11, SR, Brooklyn Park, MN) led the team defensively with 6.0 rebounds/game and added 12.5 points/game. Lauren Kessler (C, 6-1, So, Albertville, Minn.) dropped a career-high 15 points in the loss to Concordia- St. Paul.
MSU MOORHEAD- (9-8, 6-7 NSIC) The Dragons suffered two losses this weekend, as they were unable to find their offensive stride Friday and could not overcome a deficit to St. Cloud on Saturday. Angie Jetvig (F, 6-2, Jr., Hawley, Minn/Hawley) continued to lead the team as she put up 15 points on Friday and scored a career-high 27 points on Saturday. She paired her points with seven rebounds on Friday and 15 boards on Saturday. On the weekend she averaged 21 points, 11 rebounds and one assist per game. She also had two steals and one block on the weekend.
