Golden Eagle Women's Soccer Signs Jessica Ramirez (Millbrae, Cal.) to a National Letter of Intent

Thumbnail image for ramirez_jessica.jpg(Crookston, Minn.) - The University of Minnesota, Crookston Golden Eagle Women's Soccer program announced today the signing of Jessica Ramirez from Millbrae, Cal. to a National Letter of Intent to play for the Golden Eagles during the 2011 season.

Ramirez is a 5'3" forward. She attends Mercy High School in San Francisco, Cal. where she has been a star player. Ramirez also plays club soccer for the Central Valley Flames which is one of the best club programs in Northern California. The Flames travel all over the United States and play in elite tournaments and showcases.

"Jessica is an extremely talented player who will improve our team's ability to score goals," says Golden Eagle Head Women's Soccer Coach Richard Jones. "Jessica has great vision of the field. She has the ability to score goals herself or create dangerous opportunities for her teammates. Jessica will bring skill and a style that is rarely seen in the Midwest."

Ramirez plans to major in biology at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. She is the daughter of Richard and Lucid Ramirez.

The University of Minnesota, Crookston is a NCAA Division II Institution and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). The Golden Eagle Equestrian team is a member of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA).

All signees are contingent upon admission to the University of Minnesota, Crookston and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Eligibility Center.
